Courses and Meditation Sessions
Day workshops and evening classes are available as well as talks and demonstrations.
Day Workshops
These popular days are run to help beginners in aromatherapy and those involved in any complementary therapy to achieve an overview of holistic aromatherapy and massage, at the end of which a student will have a basic understanding of what essential oils are, their origins, methods of production, history and home use and also the use of nutritious carrier oils on their own. Oils are sampled and discussed and there is an opportunity to mix and take away an aromatherapy cream based on the oils experienced on the day. There are demonstrations of brief massage applications, eg. head and shoulder massage or hand massage and an opportunity for practical work. The afternoons are dedicated to the demonstration of body massage with oil, and students are assisted in their practice on each other. The emphasis is on the understanding of the potential for healing the mind and body and spirit through holistic healing of this kind and also the action of the chakras and energy field.
All practical work is optional and clothed massage is included in the day's study, enabling the student to practice on the elderly or infirm, for example.
Materials are provided for the practical work and a certificate of attendance is available for those who have attended and practiced on the day. (NB This course enables the student to practice on friends and family only, and the certificate does not enable the student to treat the public).
This is what two students had to say about the Liverpool Workshop held at the Liverpool Wellbeing and Yoga Centre in May 2010:
"From the beginning to the end, the day was thoroughly enjoyable. The moment i walked into the room I felt welcome and calm. Isabelle is a wonderful teacher who obviously loves what she does, making the experience for me all the more rewarding. Her instructions were easy to follow and the casual, relaxed atmosphere she created meant that we all felt at ease. I had great fun and would definitely sign up for another workshop."
Belinda Van De Bovenkamp
"I went on Isabelle’s aromatherapy and massage workshop and had a really lovely day. I would definitely go on another workshop; the day itself was relaxing with a lovely, warm, comfortable atmosphere. I learnt the basics for aromatherapy and massage, I have since incorporated the aromatherapy into my daily life and found it most useful. I am looking forward to doing another workshop as I loved the last one, not just because I was learning useful information for myself but because Isabelle herself as the course tutor had such a lovely, relaxing warm teaching method that the day became not just about learning the course, it was an enjoyable day to just have been on in general".

Evening Classes
An evening course are normally of 12 weeks' duration, these is designed to teach the basics of aromatherapy for use in the home and to family and friends. They are delivered at a pace appropriate to the student group and discussion and practice is an important part of the sessions. A minimum of thirty essential oils are studied, together with the use and properties of a variety of vegetable carrier oils. The course covers the following subjects:
MEDITATION FOR ALL Easy to understand and practice.
A simple, easy approach to meditation. Non-denominational, practicing this kind of easy meditation can help to reduce stress, worry or anxiety and stimulate the body's self-healing processes. No need to lie on the floor, sit cross-legged or wear special clothes. Chairs will be used and cushions when available for those who prefer to sit on the floor.
Those who wish may leave after the actual meditation session which lasts about 20 minutes.
Cost £2.00. (Meditation Cd's may be available for purchase after the meditation)
At Easter 2012, on Good Friday we enjoyed meditating outside at 9.30, high above and overlooking the beach, in the Spring sunshine and with the sound of waves and seagulls. It was very lovely to do and as everyone was interested in meeting up again we did so on Easter Sunday.
These meditations were accompanied by teachings about Easter, the meaning and significance of this time of the year and of rebirth. A discussion followed on the Ley Lines in this area of England, the history of Cornwall and much besides. On Easter Sunday we followed the meditation with a silent 'walking meditation' until we got to the road.
Should anyone wish to meditate outdoors at St Ives again, please let me know and if there is sufficient interest we may make this a regular event (weather permitting).
One to one meditation coaching continues to be available during therapy hours.
Please phone 07775 175 856 or email me via [email protected] for any further details
